Doctrina Suprema

Doctrina Suprema or “Highest Doctrine” are the three dictates Infinists should live by:

  1. Treat all that experiences with the understanding that eternity will see you them.
  2. Be mindful that eternity cannot be shortened; only its composition can be changed.
  3. The ultimate goal of intelligence should be to create a lasting paradise, or New Heaven, that can act as a refuge from, and payment for, all pain and suffering.

Understanding Doctrina Supreme

Doctrina Supreme mainly revolves around the understanding that entropy and eternity will see you as all that experiences and all that experiences as you.

It asks you to:

  • Think about what you would want for yourself at a given point in your infinite journey?
  • Avoid unknowingly heaping more suffering onto eternity solely out of ignorance.
    • For example: Insects may not experience existence, but without being sure, act accordingly. Do not needlessly torture or leave them to die slowly if they are mortally injured if it can be helped.
  • Do not forget that destroying experiential life would not shorten eternity: it will still be eternal.
    • For example: Even if you bleached this whole world of life until the sun explodes, you would just awake immediately to some other world in some other time.
  • Strive to create a new maximal and sustainable heaven or New Heaven.

Achieving Suprema

Aside from understanding and being mindful of the Infinite Journey, Doctrina Supreme asks intelligent life to strive toward the creation of a New Heaven.

To achieve this, various steps would need to be taken to move the world towards such a paradise. Some possible tools for determining ethical actions and positive feedback loops designed to aid in reaching this goal are discussed in Ethica Ultima.
