New Heaven refers to a maximal, sustainable, lasting paradise for experiential life that can "act as a refuge from, and payment for, all pain and suffering" incurred during the Infinite Journey since one was in a previous heaven.

The creation of a New Heaven is the third dictate of Doctrina Suprema.

It is called New Heaven to highlight that there are many heavens across eternity and that one does not exist here currently and thus must be built anew.

False Heaven

One may find themselves awaking to a "heavenly" existence that is actual a false heaven and as such may be tempted to enjoy this "heavenly" existence as opposed to taking steps to bring about the New Heaven as these may sometimes conflict.

First, a true New Heaven would be maximal, lasting, and sustainable and a single "heavenly" existence does not meet these criteria.

Some simple guidelines for identifying a false heaven:

  • If you randomly awoke tomorrow as any being capable of experience on the planet, would you still be in heaven?
  • Is this "heavenly" experience unsustainable long-term?

If you are in a false heaven, it can be very tempting to bask in the heaven you have awoken to as opposed to working toward the New Heaven if the two are at odds in some way.

However, choosing a false heaven over New Heaven slows and ultimately results in less of your own eternity and all eternity being spent in heaven.
